In December 2017, Antonio Villarreal was appointed as Assistant Compliance and Anticorruption Director. He was Head of the Department of International Proceedings, and Assistant Director and Acting Director of International Legal Assistance in the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (1993-1996); he was Head of Department and Assistant Administrator of different areas of the Tax Administration Service (1997-1999); he held the position as Certifying Public Official of the then Tax and Administrative Justice Court (2003); he was Assistant Secretary to Dr. Sergio E. Casanueva Reguart, Commissioner of the Judiciary Council of the Federal District (2004-2006); and was Assistant Secretary to Dr. Manuel González Oropeza, Electoral Justice of the Electoral Court of the Judiciary of the Federation (2009-2016).
He has received acknowledgments from the former British Her Majesty's Customs and Excise Department, Investigations Division, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (September 1994), and of the Customs Service of San Ysidro, California, U.S. (May 1996) for his participation in money laundering cases. He was a speaker at the I Conference on Prevention, Control and Supervision of the Legitimation of Capitals from Drug Crime Proceeds, Caracas, Venezuela (june 1995).
He was Academic Assistant to Dr. Sergio E. Casanueva Reguart in the subjects “Banking and Special-purpose Institutions and Transactions”, “International Relationships and Taxes”, “Business Law”, “Public Law”, “International Public Law” and “Globalization” and “Adversarial System Trials”. He was professor in the subjects of “Business Law”, “Special Crimes in Tax Matters”, “Constitutional-tax Law”, “General Doctrine of Tax Law”, “Amparo" proceedings in Tax Matters”, “Procedural Workshop of Tax Law”, “Legal Investigation Techniques”, “Tax Law I” and “Tax Processes and Proceedings”.
He obtained his Law Degree by the University of Veracruz, he has studied eight certification courses and special courses, and he studied the Doctorate Degree in Law in the Autonomous University of Mexico (U.N.A.M.), 1992-1996.
